Likewise, a much heralded claim that 97 per cent of scientists believed the planet was overheating came from a 2008 master’s thesis by a student at the University of Illinois who obtained her results by conducting a survey of 10,257 earth scientists, then discarding the views of all but 77 of them. Of those 77 scientists, 75 thought humans contributed to climate change. The ratio 75/77 produced the 97-per-cent figure that global warming activists then touted.
In fact, major surveys show that scientists in the tens of thousands do not believe that global warming represents a threat. With the departure of president Obama and his administration, which had blocked independent investigations from being pursued, whistleblowers in greater numbers will now dare to come forward, knowing they will no longer be silenced ...

ReplyDeleteI am combatting the climate change indoctrination attempts here at home. My daughters will comment and I will ask from where they get their information. I have told them about how we were going to be 20 feet under ice by now (according to the settled science from when I was their age), again due to human caused influence to the climate. I try to help them understand the distinction between climate, and how humans could not possibly account for the huge swings in Earth's climate over the millenia, vs. extreme weather which again is not caused by humans. If we could control weather, would we allow hurricanes and tornados?
Mismanagement of natural resources (human caused) has led to drought and too much fuel in forests (re: CA wildfires). Environmentalists lobbying for spotted owl habitats to outlaw responsible logging, and others like them, have influenced public policy to the point where, yes, humans are impacting the environment in many negative ways. Lets find a way to manage waste that does not result in plastic-filled oceans. Lets not let chemicals leach into our water supplies. But don't tell me humans have any impact whatsoever on whether or not the Earth is heating up or cooling down. That is what insurance companies refer to as "Acts of God."
